Chief Legal Officer

Mark Han serves as the Chief Legal Officer at Excel Health, where his expertise in intellectual property law plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic portfolio development, investment due diligence, and IP commercialization efforts. With over 20 years of experience in the field, Mark has represented high-profile clients, including Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, STMicroelectronics, and Seagate, showcasing his ability to navigate complex legal landscapes effectively.

Before joining Excel Health, Mark was the Senior IP Counsel at Intellectual Ventures. In this role, he led a team responsible for the prosecution and maintenance of one of the world’s largest patent portfolios, encompassing more than 30,000 assets and over $6 billion in investor capital. This experience has endowed him with a unique insight into the management and strategic utilization of intellectual property on a global scale.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the Washington State Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, further underlining his comprehensive legal qualifications. At Excel Health, Mark continues to leverage his extensive knowledge and experience to protect and advance the company’s legal and intellectual property interests.
